Impact of RIN on Optical CDMA Transmission System

چکیده
Optical code division multiple access (OCDMA) is one of the most upcoming technologies for future multiple access techniques along with WDMA and OTDMA. Optical CDMA offers greater scalability than other optical multiplexing technique and it provides flexible quality of service and data access security. OCDMA requires increasing demand for high speed, large capacity communications in optical networks which allow multiple users to share the fiber bandwidth. The data for multiple users are multiplexed asynchronously. In this Paper, we have presented an OCDMA model to the range of 90km. The simulation results reveal that the transmission distance is limited mainly by the Relative Intensity Noise (RIN) which arises when there is instability in the power level of a laser in the system because of the fact that RIN can be generated from fluctuations in the laser gain medium.

In particular we begin by giving a c...
متن کاملHybrid WDM/Optical CDMA System Based on Hybrid Spectral/Spatial Coding Scheme
The optical CDMA and WDM systems have been of widespread implementation for local and metro access network. This is because optical CDMA systems provide users both simultaneous and asynchronous access to networks with high security [1], and WDM systems provide a relatively high transmission capacity [2]. In addition, optical CDMA can be overlaid onto existing WDM networks in order to enhance th...
متن کاملAnalysis of Indoor Wireless Infrared Optical CDMA LAN Using Prime Codes
-In wireless optical system, CDMA suits well for high bit rate systems where good security is needed and mobility is not important. It would be economical when compared to radio frequency band and much safer since there is no electromagnetic effect. Infrared systems are used for its widest bandwidth and are not affected by radio transmission. The advantage of the prime code and the security iss...
متن کاملA Unified Framework of the Performance Evaluation of Optical Time-Wavelength Code-Division Multiple-Access Systems
In this paper, we provide an analysis to the performance of optical time-wavelength code-division multiple-access (OTW-CDMA) network when the system is working above the nominal transmission rate limit imposed by the passive encoding-decoding operation. We address the problem of overlapping in such a system and how it can directly affect the bit error rate (BER). A unified mathematical framewor...
متن کاملMultirate optical fast frequency hopping CDMA system using power control
This paper addresses the problem of real-time multimedia transmission in fiber-optic networks using code division multiple access (CDMA). We present a multirate optical fast frequency hopping CDMA (OFFH-CDMA) system architecture using fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs). In addition, we argue that, in multimedia applications, different services have different quality of service (QoS) requirements; henc...
